PLP spokesman warns of tit-for-tat in response to arrests of his party members

image from marcellusdrilling.comSuggesting the FNM is “setting a dangerous precedent” in how it is now handling the political affairs of the country and “the governing party has “turned on” its opponents and is attempting to use the state to imprison, bad mouth and create a bad image of them across the country” because political colleagues have been charged with various offenses before the Courts is almost laughable.

The spokesman went on seeming to suggest the Police acted without evidence when he says:

“…you can’t be surprised if PLP supporters, upon winning again, say that’s the road that we are going to go down. So if . . . whoever survives the FNM government is seen in handcuffs being paraded before the court because of some decision that he made while he is in government, nobody can feel sorry for them in five years. We have to be very careful.”

Frankly if there is evidence of wrongdoing it doesn’t matter to me if they are black, white, pumpkin yellow, PLP, FNM or anything in between, that’s why we have the independent Judiciary. If they are innocent the charges will be dropped. If they are found guilty, they will have to pay the price.

So if there is evidence let the chips fall where they may Mr. PLP spokesman. The Bahamian taxpayer has been paying the price in ever increasing taxes long enough. It's time for the criminals to pay and fiscal responsibility restored.
