Sterilisation

image from www.improvehealthinfo.comMr. Editor WeblogBahamas,

I am a black Bahamian woman and I, with a large number of my sister Bahamians, can and will agree that Mr. Richard Lightbourn is quite correct, his presentation may not have been the best, but his idea is spot-on! Would there have been such an outcry if a prominent black PLP man had made that comment, possibly not? Racism is alive and well and living in our sorry Bahamaland. But to get back to the main topic, there is absolutely no excuse for the unwanted pregnancy nowadays, birth control is free from government clinics, and I will add to Mr. Lightbourn’s suggestion with one of my own, the man, causing the problem, should also be sterilized. As a parting thought, Mr. Lightbourn’s ideas wouldn’t work anyway, I hear the Princess Margaret Hospital will not “tie the tubes” of a single woman, only a married woman, with her husband’s consent(??!!!!!!??) can have that procedure! Heaven help us, and we are surprised that the gender equality bills failed!!
