Leslie Miller, PLP MP for Tall Pines claims Dr. Hubert Minnis would be the best leader for the opposition FNM because he “…is a man [who] represents the small Bahamian.”

In this article he goes on to say, “It’s time for some small, black Bahamians to get something in this country now.”

How does he make such a judgement?

What is the “small man”?

Can he explain how successive black Governments, since 1967, have held the small man down”?

Is there some deliberate policy we need to be enlightened on?

What policy does Dr. Mininis propose to implement that will change the “small mans” plight?

What gives Dr. Minnis the ability to carry out such a policy (whatever that may be) while all others, including the nations “Founding Father”, have failed to do so?

Why hasn't Mr. Miller ensured this unknown policy to uplift the "small man" happened? He’s made a political career grandstanding that he cares about the “small man”. In other words, exactly how is this so called “small man” doing in Mr. Miller's own Tall Pines constituency?

It’s, well, sickening how some people in the political class are allowed to use racist tactics and go unchallenged.

This country needs to move away from cronyism, where contracts are allegedly handed out to friends rather than bid for using proper transparent protocols.

A Cabinet Minister’s ability to over rule the intent of laws needs to be abolished.

How about ensuring the educational system gives people the ability to read, write and do arithmetic instead of failing them?

How about ending corruption in Government?

That’s a couple ways to help Bahamians Mr. Miller. Be they small, big, black, white or pumpkin yellow.

You have shared in the stifling of enterprising Bahamians by willingly participating in the process that allows these things to continue unabated.

Hyperbole and bluster, along with failing institutions and discriminatory practices, things some in the political class excel in, will not help any of the unconnected, including this so called “small man”.

The proof is in the pudding we’re all eating these days and your racist tactics don’t help any Mr. Miller.
