The Government and the Press

image from image.slidesharecdn.comSo Prime Minister Perry Christie is now upset with doctors and insurers for going public with their concerns about his Nationalised Health Insurance (NHI).

Let me get this straight, the political class call press conferences on a whim to get their views across, but the citizens can't?

Citizens must come unto Caesar and voice their concerns behind closed doors.

This is typical of elected officials and bureaucrats when they wish to enforce their will.

It happened with the labour bills, the introduction of Value Added Tax and it will probably happen with NHI.

Once the government slows the opposition's momentum, game over.

However, if the doctors and insurers do not come on board with the government's plan we will see just how concerned the government is with protecting people's rights.

I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts the government will not hesitate to force the doctors and insurers to do what they want them to do.
