I’ll admit it, I’m peeved

image from kunaljanu.files.wordpress.comYou know when you stop and think about the financial crisis – yes I used the word crisis – the country is in and what may result if the government does not slow spending and reduce deficits it's not going to be pretty.

Setting that aside for a moment we're told we have to "sacrifice" for the sake of the country by paying more taxes because our governments chose, yes chose, to run up deficits and debt, not to mention contingent liabilities and legacy pension debt and more.

Sure they hid the trouble we now face by borrowing to punt the ball down the road all the while making us believe they were "taking care" of us.

Should the country's credit rating continue to slip and the dollar is devalued, heaven forbid, who do we call on then?

Responsible Bahamians that have tried to save for retirement so they are not a burden to their children and the state will wonder what happened to their hard work.

Bahamians that have not been able or willing to save will be in even worse shape.

Meanwhile our so called leaders jet set with their entourage all over the world at our expense continuing to increase the mountain debt, spending as there was no tomorrow.

Yes we must find our patriotic streak and pay up now that government has effectively silenced the private sector?

No I'm not peeved after all. I'm pissed!
