The Prime Minister should be disappointed by the “bitterness” over the Bimini trip. As blame is going back and forth as to who was responsible for the treatment the press received, the truth remains that whatever the rules were, they were enforced by some entity; inside or outside of the country. The Counsellors Group, President, acknowledges that they were not fully responsible and were not the sole organizers of the event. What remains is only what we can see. Another “foreign investor” perhaps with the help of Bahamians has managed once again to express a kind of “territorial sovereignty” where Bahamians can be excluded in their own country; on the eve of 40 years of Independence. Maybe our politicians should not get in the habit of showing up at the last minute for events where they are placed in the front of a parade. The Unesco event that many were not aware of was another indicator as to how serious we are about doing what we should be doing.
The owners of the venture in Bimini would not be able to do something like this any place else in the world, but “investors” come here to get away with things that they would not think of doing anyplace else in the world. It may take a while for us to know the down side of these monstrosities that we are allowing into a landscape where they are plainly out of place; but since the leader is on record that we would like to be Like Vegas, it will not be long before we run out of space or contaminate the ecology that brings visitors to our shores.
Anyway, the ferry would have been inspected properly and the Prime Minister would not have egg on his face.

I found interesting the assertion that “Biminites” “would be able to invest” in whatever it was.
Some Hotel Corp scheme in the water sports services.
Is he excluding non Biminites?
What if I wanted to invest?
Have they not learned that their words should be well thought out?
That we no longer have blind allegiance to anyone or anything?
Having been shafted often enough, although being “hard to learn”
we are slowly catching on.
A bit late but non the less………
Damn it, how often must they Back into the mud to learn they get stuck in it everytime…..
