Team Obama knows too much?

by Rick Lowe

Marc Ambinder's blog at The Week (my favourite weekly news magazine) raises some interesting points about ones personal information that is so easily available to the Obama campaign. He says:

"They know if you're registered to vote or not. They know, because of the magazines you subscribe to, what you like to do in your spare time. They know, because of their Facebook friends, the types of people you associate with. Me: I am not a volunteer for the campaign. But they know how much money I make. They know my age. They know how long it takes me to open an email they send to me. They know which words are likely to make me open an email more quickly. They know what images make me click on a link more quickly. They're able to associate my name with my public online identities and make predictions about my behavior based on keywords they mine from the data."

Read it all here…

He points out that the Romney campaign is doing the same thing but on a "much smaller scale".

I don't mind advertisers being able to decipher my tastes etc, but when the political class has such easy reference to everything about you, it won't be long before the state will use it against you.

Are we letting the political class get away with too much? After all they make the rules to keep us under "control" all the while leaving themselves out of the laws.

We should pay attention to this. It's eerie.

By the way, the computer has figured out that Ambinder will vote for Mr. Obama.

Seems to me like the only thing they don’t know is how to STOP spending

What better way to track your citizens,
than to have them report voluntarily?
    Facebook, twitter, etc
    That along with paperless money,
pretty much spells out their end game.
Take the older generations value on discretion, privacy of information,
This newer generations divulges so much, so freely,
so publicly, with such strong buy in,
They make it easy for the unscrupulous or the powers that be,
Often the one and the same.
one new trend in the U.S. is becoming a “ghost” or slowly disappearing until electronically invisible.
    Maybe for good reason?

Surprise, surprise, surprise, the government of the United States has been dong this for years using the internet to literally spy on its citizens as well as others.. Cell calls, e-mail and overseas calls and letters are being monitored om a continuing and ongoing basis.. How could this be in a country that was founded on the principles of individual freedom and “liberty and justice for all”?? Americans are giving up their fundamental freedoms in exchange for a false sense of government imposed security.. The Bill of Rights, the first ten Amendments to the Constitution, are under attack as freedom of speech, of the press and from unlawful search and seizures are under continuous assault..
How can this happen to the nation that was the world’s beacon of freedom?? This is the result of government for the sake of expanding government control and domination.. Individual justice is giving way to social justice as determined not by law but by the will and force of government.. Today laws and regulations are made by Executive Order and not by the Congress as required by the nation’s Constitution.. What a travesty of law and order.. Today the Department of Justice is a travesty of justice and a tool of government policy and control.. The government under Obama is taking more and more control over the daily lives of the people.. Obamacare, for example, has proven its got little to do with providing better individual healthcare and lowering healthcare costs.. It is a means of extending government control over its citizens lives.. Can the government make better decisions regarding health that individual citizens who need healthcare?? The evidence of failing National Health in the UK speaks for itself..
Today as never before individual rights and freedom are under attack by the very government that was supposed to protect these very rights and freedoms.. Its time to wake up, start giving a damn before its to late.. Dictatorship is just around the corner, and freedom is under assault from within as never before.. Government is the problem and NOT the solution..

“When the people discover they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury,
Democracy is over, always to be followed by a dictatorship”
    Thomas Jefferson
When people relinquish individual freedom for security,
    They shall have neither.

Not Amused.. Your quote from Jefferson is right to the point.. His most famous words, “We the people..” in 1776 ignited the world with the spark of liberty and freedom in the greatest statement of freedom ever pronounced by mankind, the Declaration of Independence..
Today, the “We the people” in the United States have changed dramatically over the past fifty years.. What many observers have called the American “the melting pot” has NEVER assimilated into a common people called AMERICANS.. Today the people are divided, supporting their own ethnic, cultural identities as the politicians cater to these groups hoping for political support.. A common language bonds a nation together, but today there is no common language.. The people use ethnic identities such as Hispanic American, Black American, Asian American even Filipino American when describing themselves.. What ever happened to the great American melting pot?? It never melted.. Does any one in America take pride anymore in being just an AMERICAN plain and simple?? It sure doesn’t seem so.. “Divide and rule” policies are destroying the American people.. The Obama Administration is thriving on such policies as they seek to exercise more and more control over a divided nation.. Its time for the “we the people” to wake up, unite together as Americans taking back their government and hopefully their freedom.. IN DEO SPERAMUS
