What a difficult few days.
Being accused of wrong doing makes for sleepless nights.
I wonder if Jerome will now reveal his source and apologise for his actions?
A simple phone call would have sorted it out.
But like Saunders Beach, he would not have gained political mileage.
Our country could be so much nicer.
I think he should apologize & do it quickly, even though he new it was wrong when he did it in my view.Maybe he should be Investigated.A similar thing happened to someone I know before with a minister two years ago & he has not apologized yet, even though there was nothing found wrong with what was done.I also think he should be fined heavily for what he did, just to stop it in the future.It is pretty bad when you can do what he did & get away with it, shame on him.
This is one of the problems in the Bahamas today when people like that can say anything they please & nothing come of it, and a Senator at that, my oh my, is this what the PLP has to offer ?
Interesting how they will pounce on anyone for political self service/elevation.
How fast they who show possible promise shift to the methods and motives of those who destroy all in their path.
This is why one is no better than any other, although I’m sure some can be worse.
I do indeed wonder how he obtained documents to wave around in the house, but do not think the light will ever shine on that.
Sad, and I agree, things could be so much better for all of us.
First they strip their own dignity, then attack ours.
It must drive them to distraction that some do not operate the way they do, that there are still some holding to loftier ideals.
He that come to equity must come with clean hands…I’m not one of the smart ones but I think thats how that go.
While we are not alone in the world, it is sad how low our politicians will stoop to earn political mileage. The Hon. Senator would do more service to the Country cracking down on those that evade duty all together. But then again it is easier to pounce on the clean guy who they know will pay up rather than fight with the dodgers.

Of course he could not have gained any political mileage out of that.
What he did was shameful and cowardly because he knew that he was immune, as a member of the senate, from prosecution for such libelous statements.
We certainly deserve a full investigation into this matter. Presumably he was not on the senate floor when the papers were secreted to him.
Boy, you folks are amazing!! When HI and the FNM were getting information after information from govt. workers (civil servants) while in opposition and taking them to the HOA to gain political mileage, FNMs were saying’ “deal with them crooked and corrupt PLPs”…. eg. F. Wilson
But Rick, I must agree with you on this one.. I don’t mind when politicians deal with politicians but it gets to me when politicians are messing with the persons outside of parliament… I never did like that and I still don’t like it. Jerome should apoligize now!!! That was not fair to you whether he was right (which is not so) or wrong!!
If he thought he had good evidence, why didn’t he say it outside the Senate?? Cowards, that’s what they are!!

Jerome called me during the budget debate in the House to ask questions about business, yet he could not call with this?
He is now pitiful in my view.
Also,the Comptroller has now indicated to the press that there are other companies and individuals caught in this trap of inefficiency (did not change the rates in their system in time) on Customs behalf or the actual approval timeline of entries were made before the announcement.
However, The Protection of Revenue Act or clause and the law that forces one to pay even when Customs (the Government) is wrong, is immoral in the obscene.
About 25 years ago the rise in duty was made retroactive and businesses were forced to pay even though inventory was in stock for a while, if I remember correctly.

If Mr. Fitzgerald has the decency to apologise it would shock me.
Sent an e-mail through the PLP web site asking Jerome if he will apologise.

How else do you expect a child from the “all for me baby” generation to behave.. It is in his blood and is his birth right.. It is in all of us to some extent..
We see this kind of attitude and behavior not only in the Bahamas but in the United States as well.. Like many Bahamian politicians, Obama is a classic example of a narcissistic personality disorder characterized by excessive self-admiration and self-centeredness.. In psychiatry, this is a personal disorder characterized by a person’s overestimation of their own appearance, abilities and an excessive need for constant admiration and self-recognition.. I am sure many of our Bahamian political leaders come to mind as well..
Fortunately or sadly, depending on ones point of view or political perspective, these personalities usually self-destruct as their credibility comes in to public question..
There are lessons to be learned here by all who seek the challenges of higher public office.. But then again few will ever learn or benefit from the experiences of life..
