Pensioners Being Banished

OldDear  Mr.Editor,

I have delayed any comments hoping for some sanity to prevail, unfortunately it would appear sense is a commodity sorely lacking in our governing circles presently.

Dr. Minnis, why do you consider we pensioners, “precious pearls” I believe the term was – one of which you are yourself! –  as less than second-class citizens in our own country?  I refer to our banishment to the ungodly hours of 6am to 8am for preferential access to food stores.

I hear your argument that we are, because of age, an at risk segment of the population and it is better to deny access to other age groups.  I ask, therefore, what is the difficulty in “giving” us the last 2 hours of the working day, i.e. 5pm to 7pm, rather than the first 2 hours?

Thank you,

Peter Armstrong
