Forgotten Dreams: A People’s Desire To Chart Their Own Course On Abaco, Bahamas

ForgottenDreamsCoverIt's hard to believe it's about ten years ago that I started collaborating with people involved with the Abaco Independence Movement (AIM) to try my hand at writing a meaningful essay.

My family and I always thought the story was distorted for political purposes and the conversations with some of those involved were fascinating and filled in a lot of blanks.

AIM was a real Libertarian dream in the making.

The image on the cover of the essay with the lighthouse is of the flag for the proposed new country of Abaco.

With a forty page Constitution based on limited Government I believe Abaco would have been a country worth emulating.

Thanks again to those involved that provided insight, documentation and images: Norwel Gordon, Richard King, Chester Thompson, Adrian Day and Jack Albury. Apologies if I forgot anyone.

Finally I must thank Larry Smith again for his editing skills making the story more readable and for putting a few things in the correct chronological order.

Hope you enjoy it.
