Nationalised Health Insurance Bill now pegged at $200 Million Per Annum

NHIA$200 million is the worst case scenario we're told, but projections have risen from $106 million to $200 million (worst case scenario) in just 18 months. A possible $70 million shortfall per annum is not small change, particularly when the country remains in a fiscal mess.

Imagine that, an 88.8% increase with no explanation?

This coupled with the stated losses of $100 million in the public health system is simply unsustainable.

With many businesses in the private sector still reeling from the effects of increasing VAT to 12% suckling another $100 million in taxes will be devastating.

But, forging ahead looks like nothing more than a hedge for the next election. What could be worse than playing politics with an issue like this?
