Mrs. Hanna Martin’s sordid past with the Post Office?

Post OfficeSir,

If there is one person in this Commonwealth of the Bahamas who should keep her mouth tightly shut on any matters concerning Her Majesty’s Bahamas Post Office, it is Mrs. Glenys Hanna Martin.  She was the Minister responsible for the Post Office for 10 years – two 5 year terms – and did absolutely nothing to stem the myriad problems with that building.  It was so very noticeable that every other government entity, also sharing that building, were removed from that condemned place, like rats leaving a sinking ship, and relocated elsewhere.

Why couldn’t Mrs. Hanna Martin relocate the Post Office instead of leaving the staff to suffer in horrendous, sub-standard working conditions; a rat-infested environment, having to breathe mold and play “dodge-ball” with falling masonry and debris?

What really beggars belief is that senior management, and by extension, Minister Hanna Martin were told constantly, by the staff, to build a new Post Office building in the parking lot to the west of the present one, but this, so sensible idea, was totally ignored

When will people learn?
