Our Imperial Prime Minister

DrminnisWhen the former PLP government set up an Office of the PM in Grand Bahama it was perplexing but it was given a pass as Freeport, Grand Bahama is the second largest city in the Country with significant private investment.

Not to be outdone the former FNM government set up an Office of the PM in Abaco.

Now just a few short years later the new FNM regime intends to set up an Office of the PM in "several islands" so the PM can "attend and reside in those family islands, listen to the people one on one, hear their concerns and correct their concerns?

Of course our most senior civil servant, like the royalty that colonised these islands, should not have to make do with space in the Commissioner's Office when attending meetings in the Family Islands. Nor should he have to live in the commoner's hotel or guest house. Particularly since he doesn't have to foot the bill. He can just add it to the annual deficit and eventually increase the national debt.

Heck since money is no object why not set up an office on every island so he won't have any inconveniences of life. There's only 700 of those islands.

On a serious note, one would have thought that the leader of a government that came to power to root out fiscal abuse and arrogance in the government would want to be seen saving the taxpayer money, but I guess there really is something to CDS?
