One of the most curious aspects of the Oban "deal" the government signed onto is waiving the results of an Environmental Impact Assessment EIA).

While I am opposed to government over-regulation and not necessarily opposed to a refinery for Grand Bahama, why write a law, establish a government bureaucracy and fund it to agree that if a negative judgement is made it will not stand?

Simply put, this all makes a mockery of the law.
