More power failures!

image from hnzyzb.comDear Mr. Editor,

This is not going to happen often, if ever again, but I must agree with Mr. Leslie Miller for his comments concerning the abilities of our Bahamian B.E.C. management. I agree they are infinitely superior to the rubbish that Power Secure have dumped on us.

I’m sorry but the end of November is the beginning of winter, in my experience and yet we appear to be having more power cuts now than B.E.C. could manage in the height of summer! This is not good enough at all. Also it might be more helpful if the current management could be just a tad more generous with the truth occasionally: on the news earlier today I believe I heard that all customers were back under power by 3:00am this morning after three cuts; sorry wrong! Our power – in the Highland Park area, in the western district – was resumed about 5:00am after at least our FIFTH cut, and, of course, this does not included the cut we experienced between 8:45am and 9:45am and then the one from 1:55pm until 2:40pm this afternoon. I appreciate this is nothing to what I understand our brothers and sisters in the blackbelt areas have to put up with, but NOBODY, ANYWHERE should be forced to endure this sort of totally substandard service especially in this 21st century.

Mr. Christie there is absolutely no excuse for this sort of rubbish to be foisted onto anyone’s shoulders especially as there was an excellent answer to this power generation and supply situation left for you by the previous administration.

Could this be the final nail in the PLP coffin?

Here’s to hoping
Harry Strachan
