Okay the RTD issues are because of the FNM

Now the Minister of State for Finance chimes in to suggest that the FNM is playing politics with the Road Traffic Department (RTD) fraud and malfeasance. More…

I agree.

The FNM is playing as much politics with this major issue as the PLP are, so if we all simply agree to accept responsibility and move on to resolve the problem that would be a giant step for The Bahamas. And note I referred to all of us accepting responsibility. Those of us that pay off the clerks and those clerks that accept the money are equally culpable.

We’ve knowingly allowed this to go on for generations yet blame each other. Well is that leadership?

That’s a rhetorical question of course.

The American businessman and humorist, Arnold H. Glasow pointed out that; "A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit."

In other words, we know the PLP are not solely responsible for the fraud and malfeasance at the RTD, so not accepting all the blame is fine, but tell us how you will stop the bleeding and charge those responsible before the courts. Then when it’s fixed congratulate your staff for a job well done.

We’ll know you did it Mr. Halkitis. We'll know you are a true leader.

But to spill pages of ink on political rhetoric about who is at fault and who is playing politics is doing an injustice to the taxpayer and emboldening the crooks in our midst at the RTD.
