Have the Prime Minister & Mr. Izmirlian Buried the Hatchet?

image from www.weblogbahamas.comJust a day or two after Mr. Sarkis Izmirlian released a revised offer for Baha Mar, Prime Minister Christie has come out to offer his support.

Not to rehash the Government forcing the venture into receivership and the vicious verbal attack of a few Government MPs and the suggestion by one his residency should be revoked, Mr. Christie, after suggesting he had ‘grave concerns’ over Izmirlian, now seems to realise the difficulty in dealing with the China Exim Bank/China Construction, (read the Chinese Government) in an effort to finish Baha Mar and get it opened in the best interest of everyone. Not to mention getting it up and running in an effort to boost the oh so sluggish economy.

While many people had their doubts about the project from the beginning, Mr. Izmirlian suggests “all of this is correctable.” I’m not sure I could bury the hatchet and have a level of trust in the players after what has transpired. By the same token I don’t have $1 Billion invested in a project that is at a standstill.

Fingers crossed.
