I notice everyone and his wife bitches and moans about that God forsaken Very Awful Tax and yet nobody, but nobody, makes any comment about that other taxation disaster this PLP government inflicted upon us almost within minutes of taking the government in 2012, the Environmental Levy.

I hesitate to think how many millions of dollars have been taken, it would appear by false pretences, from the Bahamian people. Of course, if these funds had been paid into a designated trust account and not “lost” in the consolidated fund, these monies would be available for the disaster on Harold Road, not to mention abandoned cars and household appliances that litter our streets!

I will make further comment and say I am still awaiting a response from our great and glorious (sic) Minister of the Environment and Housing to my enquiries concerning the correct disposal of simple yet highly dangerous household products like batteries and any electrical product that is past its useful life, of course, need I say that I’ve have not received any answers? Could it be the Minister doesn’t have a clue?
