Not that he intended it to be equated to the global warming" debate, but it sure seems relevant.

Democratic Congressman Raul Grijalva is allegedly writing univerisities, "demanding financial records showing who is financing the research of dissenting scientists, and demanding their internal communications as well. Mr. Grijalva says that financial disclosure needs to be part of the public's "right to know" who is financing those who express different views."

But if researchers can change facts based on who is paying for the studies, why is government funding of studies any less polluting.

As Dr, Thomas Sowell notes in the article linked above, he remembers how this game of intimidation was "played by Southern segregationist politicians trying to hamstring civil rights organisations…"

Of course these apparent attempts to silence scientists that do not consider the "climate change" debate settled, are shameful and destructive to freedom.

Imagine the uproar from the left if these threats to scientific study were being carried out by someone on the right?

To quote Dr. Sowell again;

"The fact that "global warming" models are not doing a very good job of predicting actual temperatures has led to a shift in rhetoric, with "climate change" now being substituted. This is an issue that needs to be contested by scientists using science, not political muscle."

I'm surprised that reasonable people on the left are not trying to put a stop to this demagoguery – maybe they're like some demagogues on the right with matters they believe – it suits their climate change beliefs so why not let it continue.

Finally, I cannot understand for the life of me how handing more tax dollars to governments will solve whatever is happening with climate change.
