Government to own 51% of new phone company to sell shares to the public

It has been reported that the government is to retain 51% of the shares of a new phone company to compete against BTC, a company in which government owns 49%, until the shares in the new company are sold to Bahamian investors.

Let me repeat that.

No, never mind.

Surely this only complicates the matter?

The Government of The Bahamas has its hands full with running itself, much less adding the burden of trying to "facilitate" a share offering.

What could possibly go wrong?

Hmmm…
