I must admit to feeling frustrated when I hear the political class make statements like – "from society's point of view" or "society as a whole," or The Bahamas "thinks, or does, this or that."
These statements are usually a con job.
And along comes Pierre Lemieux with an article entitled "The Vacuity of the Political "we", that confirms, "…individual preferences cannot be aggregated into consistent and "democratic" social preferences. The political "we" is, indeed, either inconsistent or dictatorial. "We" does not exist, or if it does, it's the royal "we."

The political class continues to twist the language by degrees. To accept these empty terms is not only a distraction they are a detriment to the individual and perpetuate the slide into the political abyss.
Thank you Mr. Lemieux for confirming my gut feeling.
