Spending someone else’s money

Friedman SpendingSir,

Someone, anyone, please tell me that I did not hear Prime Minister Christie, on the news, last evening (september 25, 2014), instruct his Minister of Sports to erect a state of the art baseball stadium in the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre, to be followed by similar structures in schools throughout the Bahamas.

Mr. Christie, I am quite sure you are fully aware your Treasury is beyond broke and I know neither suppliers nor employees will accept payment in buttons.

By the way, if you are expecting to use the evil VAT money, I would suggest you forget that, as I’m quite confident that your VAT “experts” have told you not to expect income from there for at least two or three years, as VAT is the most convoluted, complex and expensive tax to administer.

Yours, in shock and wonderment

Harry Strachan
