I'm just finishing this barn burner up by Laurence J. Kotlikoff and Scott Burns and there is a heck of a lot more in this great little book than to disagree with that's for sure.
The important takeaway is if the current crop don't change some habits and do so quickly, not only will retirement for the baby boomer generation be tough, we are crucifying our children and grand children on the cross of political expediency.
Of course they are dealing with the US, but our story here at home is equally one of spending, deficits, debt, and lack of savings. Add, National Health Insurance to the spending spree and the fiscal problems will skyrocket.
Yet, somehow, some of our talking heads think/suggest higher taxation by the government is the key to solving the country's fiscal problems. Of course I believe government spending is the elephant in the room.
