Political Thought and Theory: CAPITALISM, Like it or not, It just Works to Benefit the Greater Whole..

Capitalism, through free markets and private property rights, creates wealth and savings which limits the growth and expansion of poverty.. Savings create increased investment through wealth creation, the ultimate driving forces of economic growth, increasing employment, expanding productivity and reducing poverty.. No other economic system or Ism (Communism, Fascism, Socialism) has created more national wealth and reduced outright poverty more than free market Capitalism.. The academic left is always completely dumbfounded and can not give one meaningful example to refute this economic fact.. Economic reality always checkmate abstract theoretical thinking where truth is subordinated to biased and misguided belief..

The real drivers of poverty are mislead governments where welfare economics has created dependent societies of nonproductive citizens.. The power to rule is the power to control as forced policies of economic transformation such as VAT in the Bahamas will expand the poverty rolls by well over 12 percent.. The emphasis on nonproductive government spending as opposed to productive free market spending is the single most driving force to creating greater poverty which goes hand in hand with increased levels of crime..

Want more facts, check our Detroit and Chicago where massive waste and public spending combined with political corruption has bankrupted one and the latter leads the nation in crime and murder.. America's economic failings are a direct result of its politically driven and misguided fiscal policies which have expanded excessive welfare state spending to unsustainable levels.. The so-called Great Society and the War on Poverty programs of the 1960's are now forgotten, but are pronounced examples of misguided Keynesian policy failures.. Both of these failures seemed to be erased from the history books but the real truth cannot be hidden by economic revisionism..

What is most needed today in the Bahamas is less government interference and more positive emphasis upon the creation of economic growth.. Government imposed VAT is nothing more than a counter-growth policy leading to economic recession, increased unemployment, wealth reduction and expanding levels of poverty.. It is a nonrefundable ticket to financial self-destruction which will negatively impact every citizen and resident of our country.. Even tourists will free the impact of this dreaded tax as costs rise and product value declines.. Government must encourage and not hinder economic growth by down sizing itself and restructuring to encourage domestic capital formation.. Such pro-growth policies are the only opportunity left to turnaround our failing economy.. VAT must be stopped in its tracks and a new economic awakening must arise to change the course and direction of our floundering economy..
