10,000 Jobs…ish

Christie & DavisDear Editor,

A couple of items for thought:

1 – Isn’t it amazing, when things are not going as hoped then deny everything, a case in point, a serious deficiency in the numbers of jobs created since May, 2012.  The PLP election machine, at the time, did NOT deny a “promise” for the creation of 10,000 NEW jobs, or even state that this was not a Party promise but merely a claim by a senior Party member, now, of course, when it is patently obvious to even the most diehard Party faithfully in Farm Road or Grants Town that the number of NEW jobs created is less than half those promised, then the Party Chairman is up growling, yet again, to say this was never a Party promise but came from the Deputy Leader of the Party …. Oh please Mr. Roberts when are you going to go away and leave us all in heavenly peace?

image from www.bahamasb2b.com2 – The second item for thought is closely related to the first, in so much as Minister of Works Davis claims that he, alone, has created in excess of 10,000 jobs with all his recent contract signings!  Hmmm, I wonder how many of those “new” jobs, in fact, merely replace jobs that would have been lost by completion of old contracts, if the new contracts had not been signed?

Just thinking out loud.

Which gives me another thought, Mr. Roberts a golf shirt, even in our glorious flag colours, does not go with a pale grey pinstripe business suit.
