Listening to the governing party line about VAT, one would think they had nothing to do with the burden they propose placing on future generations.

Instead of apologies for the damage caused by their profligacy over the years and the further tax charge that will be assigned by their proposition, and not holding the line or reducing spending, they seem hell bent on forcing this measure into law, content to put this VAT burden on the backs of our children and grandchildren.

Simply put, like the cartoon points out, successive governments are piling VAT on the baby's back.
