Tricoloured Heron in the Glades – Photo of the week

Tri-Colured Heron in the Glades

A couple weeks back we were in Florida and took a jaunt out to the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge to walk and enjoy nature, where I took this photo.

My only regret is the heron's beak is slightly obscured. Hope you enjoy it.

By the way, the "Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is the last northernmost portion of the unique Everglades. With over 221 square miles of Everglades habitat, the Loxahatchee Refuge is home to the American alligator and the critically endangered Everglade snail kite. In any given year, as many as 257 species of birds may use the Refuge's diverse wetland habitats."
