The Bahamas is rapidly becoming a textbook case on self-imposed economic destruction.. VAT is a NO growth imposed government policy that will only create more misery for the Bahamian People.. The cost of living will skyrocket driving more and more Bahamians into poverty and into more hoped for government dependence and support.. Investment and growth will be put on hold as the private sector will be forced to significantly cut costs and creating greater across the board unemployment.. VAT is the CAUSE and increasing poverty will be the EFFECT..
When will we learn that bigger government is NOT the answer as bigger government yields only more waste and bureaucratic incompetence.. What is absent today in the Bahamian economy that could potentially turn our sick economy around?? One word and the missing ingredient, INVESTMENT.. You cannot have economic growth without investment throughout the private sector..Existing firms as well as new ventures must have the incentives to invest capital which will stimulate growth and expand the employment base.. To stimulate investment, government MUST reduce taxes and fees, eliminate unnecessary and wasteful regulations and adopt pro-growth policies.. Government should simply get out of the way and let the forces of economic growth and development flourish.. Government imposed VAT is NOT the answer and NOT a pro-growth policy..It is a failed strategy and a destructive policy from the very start..
The Christie Administration is writing its own legacy and will be a textbook case on economic failure and national self-destruction.. Wake up, time is running out as our nation’s economic future is in your hands.. Just say No to VAT..
