   WARNING.. The Bahamian Middle Class is at economic risk.. VAT will be the financial driver to force the Bahamian lower Middle Class back into ranks of adverse poverty.. That is the one thing that the installation of a VAT regime can absolutely guarantee.. The policy choices are clear, the government rather throw its struggling citizens into the pit of poverty than cut back the bloated number government employees.. Why is the government doing this to folks who are mostly PLP supporters, is difficult to understand.. Perhaps the truth is that the government just doesn’t give a damn and will side with the bureaucracy over which it exercises direct control..
   The power to tax is the power to destroy.. The sacrificial lamb in the Bahamas is the lower Middle Class that has struggled to rise up from the ranks of poverty only to be driven and forced back to where many have come from in the fist place.. This Very Awful Tax will become a curse upon our entire nation as increased poverty and the growth in crime will be the direct consequences of the inherent evil that result from VAT.. And this is from a government that daily make bogus claims and pronouncements that they are stamping out crime.. Poverty is the fundamental driver of crime, and the government’s fiscal policies will soon be the driver for expanding poverty.. Once again we see that government is the problem and NOT the solution..
