Crafty little bastard!

image from www.geniegrocery.comNow I can relate to this little ditty sent along by a friend…

A guy is walking along a Vancouver Bahamian beach when he comes across a lamp partially buried in the sand. He picks up the lamp and gives it a rub. A genie appears and tells him he has been granted one wish.

The guy thinks for a moment and says, “I want to live forever.”

“Sorry,” said the genie, “I’m not allowed to grant eternal life.”

“OK, then, I want to die after the government  balances the budget , eliminates the debt and abolishes the Senate."

“You crafty little bastard,” said the genie.

Hummmm.. The Genie suddenly smiled and then said to the crafty squirt, “Your wish is granted as you only have a few years or so to live”.. VAT and corrupt government spending will cause economic chaos and then collapse…. There will be no budget to balance, debt will fall into default becoming worthless and the new Chinese masters will disband the Senate and appoint overseers.. Be about your business little fool, your clock of destiny is running..

Are they thinking at all of the consequences ? I happened to hear someone on the radio yesterday & was shocked at his comments. What he said was “We need the VAT because we are a top down economy & whats going to happen when tourism fails etc.etc.etc.We depend on tourism to much & whats going to happen when we don’t have that to fall on & what about junkanoo & the artists”. I was shocked to say the least. What does he think will happen when business places have to lay off staff or close because of the VAT & that is the history of it.Now to me he is very uneducated on the VAT or is just a government plant. He said he was a consultant for the government.Well if he is a consultant then we are really in BIG trouble.
