Mr. Brave Davis, (PLP), Deputy Prime Minister has accused the official opposition of being political over the Cuban detainee abuse allegations.
You gotta love it when one politician accuses another of being political.

It amazes me how Mr. Davis and Mr. Fred Mitchell, Foreign Minister have spent so much time on the idea that the they – the individuals in the PLP party – carried out the alleged beatings.
I don't ever recall reading that anyone actually said this. If you have a link confirming that, please send it along.
The idiom from Shakespeare's Hamlet, "they protest too much", comes to mind.
Having said that, I'm pleased that Tourism Minister Mr. Obie Wilchombe and National Security Minister, Dr. Bernard Nottage see the importance of dealing with this matter once and for all with a proper investigation.
Let's these investigations get under way immediately, it's been too long now, and the report is issued within a couple weeks.
What a farce. Its like Obama asking the D.O.J. to investigate itself,I wonder what conclusion they will come to? With all the evidence from the commission of Inquiry, the former PM Ingraham still did NOTHING. How in the world could we possibly expect anything different now! I for one do not. Maybe if Ingraham would have done something a lesson would have been learned in these matters but I guess they are all in this together.
Self examination and investigation is always a recipe for failure, and never results in any meaning remedies.. What we are witnessing again is a lack of political leadership where nothing is accomplished and respect for government will continue to decline.. The issue here is the crime itself and not who is going to be the scapegoat..
Like it or not responsibility and accountability stops at the top and Obama-like denials don’t really count.. Mistakes are made and government must seek seek redress and remedial action.. Human rights violations simply will not go away and the longer such grievance go unaddressed, the more resentment and bitterness will ferment.. Time to step up to the plate, take responsibility and do the right thing.. That is constructive leadership from the front and not the weakness of leading from behind.. But then someone recently said, “what difference does it make” not understand that it make all the difference in the world..
“Nero Fiddled……”
The disconnect between the political “Elite” and reality is widening, soon it will be beyond stretching.
I have no doubt that Defense force officers, just like Police officers, just like ordinary people, can do disgraceful things to other human beings.
Compassion is a human trait, possessed or not Person by person.
The ratio of Decent, compassionate honorable citizenry to mal-adjusted shameless will affect perceptions of your society.
We are not doing well in that dept, as our Government seems to want to wear the shame like a mantle!
The Blustery, confused, dichotomous presentation by the various and sundry faces of Government is a disgrace to the Bahamas.
It reeks of a child caught doing wrong.
Thanks God children haven’t learned to invoke “A committee”
