New word seems to describe The Bahamas Parliament

Ineptocracyby Ian Mabon

Dear Editor,

A good friend sent me a new word not yet in the Oxford dictionary but recently discovered on the internet, the definition of which is as follows.

This is a wonderful word and I suspect it will soon become recognized in all modern languages.

INEPTOCRACY.
-(in-ep-toc’-ra-cy)-

A system of government where those least capable of leading are elected by those least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed in life, are rewarded with goods and services paid for with the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Sounds terribly familiar already doesn’t it?

Sincerely yours,

Ian Mabon

Amazing how the Rules can be cited when needed, but ignored in principal and actions when not wanted. Both Parties are guilty of this common practice. When the rules are dismantled, mayhem will eventually ensue. Because what has really been dismantled, is the peoples protection under the law, and their legal recourse, When the Government comes after them!

Seems neither party nor the press, nor many of the public knew the rules.
The PLP proposed a motion that they couldn’t and voted for it. The FNM voted against it and it was not a proper motion.
    Yes, they’re “running the country”.
Guess I have to stop into publications for a copy :0)

    Get one for me too!
Seriously, Gazetting has gone by the wayside,
seems they think a poorly run Govt website covers the requirement!
I do not believe they re-wrote the rules governing these rules.
If a Government does not publish rules and regulations properly, it throws out the Judicial norm that “ignorance is no excuse”
If no one is appraised of new or changed rules,
one can not help but be ignorant!
Makes ignorance a legitimate and acceptable defense.
I’d like a copy of the General orders, and any other “rule books” for the elected, and appointed, and Civil servants in general.
I am probably more versed in the rules for the General population than most, simply being rules telling you what is not allowed.
This is simple self preservation. (does not always work apparently but hey, you have to start somewhere!)
Their rules however, are more concerned with what they must do, and how. (procedural)
