Wow, made it through that alive!
    Unfortunately some didn’t……
Well, back to the slippery slope we go……

The glory and triumph was obtaining the victory of Independence.. The path from Independence has been a trial and error approach to governance as today our country faces a financial crisis of proportions that can destroy the very foundation of freedom that our country was founded upon..
Oracle calls it a “slippery slope”, others call it stagflation which will take us down the path to self-destruction and financial ruin.. Increasing taxes, such as the proposed VAT and corporate tax burdens, will only create further unemployment, reduce supplies of staple and consumer goods and shrink savings needed for investment.. The inflationary impact of cost-push inflation, resulting of these confiscatory taxes, will reduce consumer spending as personal incomes begin to contract.. Economy recovery, if there is recovery, will be slow, painful and limited in scope..
Today the future health of the Bahamian economy is on the edge of “the slippery slope” and we can only pray that our leadership will have the courage to take the necessary steps to save the Bahamian people and our beautiful country from ruination.. It is in their hands as history will judge them by the prudence of their actions and decisions to save our nation from economic demise and restore independence again to the Bahamian people..
