Re: Smith: BTC is raping The Bahamas.

We now appear to have our very own new, highly unusual, & uniquely Bahamian type of rape —– one where the alleged ‘victim’ is of age & even gives consent in writing.

Why do some of us buy the politiical rhetoric that businesses rip us of? I've never met a businessperson that sets out with that intention if they hope to remain in buisness. And if it's true in this case, as Dr. Ken points out, we've signed a contract to do business with them. So we consent to the alleged abuse by continuing to use the service.

Furthermore, if Mr. Smith is correct, are we to conclude, by extension, that when the Government owned 100% of BTC they were raping the public? And, since the government still owns 49% of BTC are they also condoning this behaviour?

Politics seems to be getting uglier with Parliaments consent.

    B.S. always comes full circle,
due to the Devil being called not existing.
eventually, they will end up pointing at themselves.
    Therein lies the real devil.
Ignoring their real responsibility, assuming power under the guise of authority,
helping themselves to whatever they want,
destroying the Authority of the Police branch and the courts.
Pathetic and disgraceful, but they continue unabated, and get worse and worse.
They need a devil, to distract everyone.
They are running out of believable ones.

Out of the mouths of fools comes utter foolishness.. Rape of the Bahamian public, what sheer foolishness and folly.. The only rapist of the Bahamian people is the government itself.. Such shameful remarks casts a long shadow of outright incompetence and basic ignorance.. Politicians should stick to the facts and quit being the spin doctors of political deceit and deception.. Time to put politics on the backburner and deal with the factual truth.. Our country finds itself in a precarious financial situation and such political name-calling is not constructive at a time when the nation’s creditability again is under question by the IMF and the international credit rating agencies..

Mr. Smith & Co are the ones who are ripping the business community off with their very high business license fees along with the rest of the governments very high taxes. Maybe he should take a serious look at those very high taxes & then decide who is ripping ripping who off. My conclusion is he & his colleagues are the ones doing the ripping off.

I think we all need to do just what the airlines are doing now & shout to the top of our lungs, hell no we are not going to take it anymore. For every new tax put on us we will let a staff member go,enough is enough .I have had it with them all, the high & mighty good for nothing politicians who through their actions show that they really don’t give a damn about the people. One day when the people go into the food store & a roll of toilet paper is $10.00 they will say what the….. Then the politicians will blame the business people like they always do.
