Freeze public spending for five years to achieve growth

image from 4.bp.blogspot.comMark Littlewood of the Institute for Economic Affairs (IEA) in London, recently reported that Liam Fox "called for a more radical plan to tackle the deficit and encourage economic growth." Mr. Fox noted that "tough-sounding rhetoric about getting the nation's public finances under control is not being matched by the brave policies actually needed to achieve this aim."

Oh there's talk about balancing the budget and reducing the deficit here as well, but if history is our guide, we know what the actual results will be.

So what's the "radical" proposition? "Freeze public spending for as long as five years." Read more here…

That's right, freeze it at current levels, which are astonishingly high and have been increasing now for decades.

Canada did it with great success some time ago. Why can't we?

Wake up Bahamas.. The power to tax is the power to control.. The power to borrow is the power to subjugate.. Government spends to create enforced dependency.. Today, we are becoming more dependent on a government that controls and subjugates our lives and makes us increasingly dependent on the authoritarian State.. We have become nothing more than serfs or subjects to the absolute power of the political ruling elite.. Freedom, our most precious right, is being debased and lost as we have been transformed into a dependent society.. It is a tragedy for as a people we just don’t care as the silent cancer of the “Normalcy Bias” infects our individual rational and sense of national purpose..
Does this pronouncement cited above refer to the Bahamas or the United States; you be the judge.. Yet, when one writes about the rise of the Social Collective and the loss of individual liberties and freedom, one can not distinguish or even recognize which country is being described as both are progressing down Hayek’s road to dependent servitude.. We have no one to blame but ourselves..
