On Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week I was able to enjoy ten lectures by Dr. Richard Ebeling who was here for The Nassau Institute for their third annual, Spring Lecture Series.
"Thanks to The Templeton Foundations and the College of The Bahamas, The Nassau Institute was able to present Dr. Richard Ebeling with his Economics of Liberty, Spring Lecture Series, April 4, 5 & 6, 2013, in the auditorium at The Harry C. Moore Library, College of The Bahamas."
The first lecture in the series is entitled The Moral Foundations of the Free Market Society: Liberty, Responsibility and Justice can be found here… for your viewing pleasure.
The lecture, dealing with slavery, freedom and democracy is quite thought provoking, starts at the 7:48 minute mark.
Enjoy.
Thanks Rick and to the Nassau Institute for an outstanding presentation on the moral foundations of personal freedom.. Every secondary and college student in the Bahamas should be exposed to Professor Ebeling’s thinking and experience..
Freedom is the only foundation that can keep our country free, but as we move more towards social Statism freedom is being given up for a new master, state control and dependency.. Truly we are becoming slaves of the master State.. It has happened in Russia, Germany, Italy and is now happening in the United States and the Bahamas..
As The Bahamas becomes bankrupt, the government will assume greater control over every aspect of our lives under authoritarian rule.. Freedom will be lost and we shall become mere vassals of the failing State.. Then and only then will the people finally realize that utopian socialism is a form of human bondage where the sacred values of individual liberty and freedom are lost..
Thank you again Professor Ebeling for reminding us of the moral path we must follow if we are to remain a free people as God intended us to be.. Your lecture was based on what is taking place in the United States, yet it relevance for the Bahamas is equally apparent and frightening..
