Are we in a deep mess?

by Edward Hutcheson

I do not know Minister Gregory Moss that well, but it is obvious that he should be relocated back to Freeport as soon as possible. With each tabloid story, he is looking like an elected official that the Public Treasury cannot afford; give him his Bahamasair pass and daily allowance for when he is in the Capital, but he needs to be protected from himself. If his  alleged behaviour is reflected of  the younger elected officials that the Prime Minister is bragging about, we are in some deep mess.

The mess is self evident but,
what can we expect when probably 70% of the population vote in order to join and benefit personally and directly from this “opportunity” to access public funds?
Is this not what it is all about? Have not most citizens sold their vote for the promise of great personal benefit? Is this not promised from every political platform?
Even the pretense of lofty sterling ideals or platform of ethical lawful governance has been reduced to stale crumbs.
    This is who we are.
    Shamelessly, and with immunity.
