by Rick Lowe

Learn Liberty has a wonderful library of videos like this one by Professor Anthony Davies presenting data that shows "raising taxes on the rich does not actually increase the amount of taxes the government collects" is enlightening.

Watch the video below and "learn liberty".

I don’t think anybody in their right mind would think that it would – if that was the only action taken. But this is not, and never was the President’s intentions – nor his statements made during his campaign. However, the ever increasing unequal distribution of income has got to be corrected… It will lead to internal strife etc. Both sides have to give – that’s the deal.. So, what’s the point?

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Walter.
The points were obvious I thought?
    1. Raising taxes does not bring more tax revenue as a general rule.
    2. A flat tax/simplifying the tax code would bring more revenue to help balance the budget.
With regard to the “unequal sharing of wealth” you refer to, I would suggest you take a look at this from a more centrist/left leaning policy think thank (Brookings): http://bit.ly/S89mGQ
How does your wealth harm me for example?
If I convince people that we deserve some of your wealth, that you no doubt worked hard for, are we entitled to it because we feel it is “unequal”.
So again, how does it harm me?
I don’t think class envy is the right way to look at the discussion. We need to create wealth.
