A few weeks ago we put out a call for information on local private charitable organisations that we might feature and The Bahamas Down Syndrome Association was one of those that responded.
About the BDSA:
"The Bahamas Down Syndrome Association was re-established in November 2005. We were brought together by Ms. Cynthia Stanko from the Infant Stimulation program. She thought there were too many families here in Nassau with Down syndrome children that needed a support group and some guidance. We all met for the first time at the Queens College campus and shared our stories with one another…."
The president of the BDSA is Cheryl Johnson Newell
