Seems most people in business would like the government to ban imports from their competition. It must be good for business right?
Well I don’t buy that, and professors Pierre Desrochers and Hiroku Shimuzu don’t either and tell us why in their new book The Locovore’s Dilemma: In Praise of the 10,000-Mile Diet.
Oh sure, we buy Lucayan Tropical because it is excellent and they deserve our support. However, they do not deserve an import ban of similar food stuff. If they can enjoy an import ban on their products, why don’t all local business people deserve the same thing?
“If everything was so great when most food was sourced locally centuries ago, why did we go through the trouble of developing a globalized food supply chain in the first place?” Pierre Desrochers.
“Everybody needs to know the material in The Locavore’s Dilemma. It will give you an appreciation of the unappreciated glory that is capitalist agriculture, which is responsible for the fact that you are alive, will live a long time, and in greater health than nearly anyone in history. And with this appreciation will come the ability to both enjoy your world that much more, and effectively advocate for the agricultural freedom that will enable us to consume ever-cheaper, healthier, tastier food.” Alex Epstein
