The Government and conspiracies

Rick Lowe

In recent weeks the government has been "caught" in a series of conspiracies according to official opposition party members.

First was inviting the President of Haiti here to advise Haitian/Bahamians to vote their interest.

Second was a Parliamentary walk out by the Opposition when the Government would not answer questions about the road works at question time. And,

Third, the opening of the new stadium is politically motivated and was the oppositions idea any way.

Well apparently the president of Haiti was not invited here by the government, but was feted at the leader of the oppositions home. Then after all their incredulous statements about Haitians, the leaders of the Opposition went to meet the local Haitian/Bahamian leadership to solicit their support!

Then the government could not answer the questions about the road works as they did not have the specifics contracts in their possession.

And finally, while the opposition did sign off on the Chinese building the stadium, it is now complete under the new administration. So it's not clear when the stadium should have been opened?

As more and more of these so-called conspiracies are brought up by the opposition it's beginning to sound like the boy that cried wolf.

Surely there are enough real issues to focus on instead of fairy tales? Or haven't we grown up yet?
