Rory Gallagher, one of the many great guitarists out of the UK, was actually Irish, made some fabulous music. Not only was he a superb guitarist he was also a brilliant songwriter. Wonder what kind of music he'd be writing if he were still alive?
Anyway, when we were in Florida recently we came across a music store that was closing down and I was able to buy 10 of Gallagher's CD's for under $100. A steal.
Please visit the web site dedicated to his memory here… and buy some of his material. There's some great stuff to choose from, but if you're new to him I'd suggest "Crest of A Wave", a best of set, and "Notes From San Francisco". They should give you a good feel for his work.
The song of the week is from his 1976 release, Calling Card. I hope you enjoy it.
