John Stewart – Song Of The Week – November 14, 2011 – The Spinnin’ Of The World

When we lived in Toronto back in the late 1970’s Fleetwood Mac had been transformed from a great blues band into more of a pop/rock group. Of course they topped the charts several years in a row.

Well in 1979 Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, tow of the proponents of Fleetwood Mac’s new sound helped folk musician John Stewart on what must have been his tenth album by then, Bombs Away Dream Babies.

The album is a bit over-produced, but there are some real gems on it.

I really enjoy The Spinnin’ Of The World, a fun country folk tune with some great back up vocals by Lindsey Buckingham.

Unfortunately John Stewart died in 2008, but his great music lives on. Read his biography here… and buy some of his material.
