Warren Buffet wants to pay more taxes

Rick Lowe

According to his recent article in the New York Times, Mr. Buffet thinks the rich should pay more taxes, even though in 2008 the people that earned the top 10% of the income paid 69.94% of Federal Income Taxes collected.

But I don't see why those people like Mr. Buffet, that wish to pay more in tax don't just write the US Government a cheque for however much more they would like to contribute.

Seems like that would solve Mr. Buffet's dilemma and take a lot less effort than amending the tax code?
