I guess I first came across Dave Mason as a solo artist with his release of his self titled album in 1974 with his great version of Bob Dylan’s All Along The Watchtower. Ah, the memories.
For those of you that don’t know, Dave Mason was the guitarist for that great band Traffic, with Steve Winwood and the late Jim Capaldi. Now that was a band!
In any event I recently bought Dave Mason live at XM Radio, and it just blew me away. He performs some of the material from across his career but I particularly like two of the Traffic songs he does, 40,000 Headmen and Mr. Fantasy.
