What a crock!
Just take a look at the few remaining countries that base their country's economic growth and the betterment of their citizens on that philosophy.
I'm willing to bet there would be very few of us that would move to Cuba, North Korea or even China.
So when politicians spout off with rhetoric that land in The Bahamas is for Bahamians only without removing government control of Crown Land, it's only hot air.
It gets so tiring. And as long as the political class can manipulate us with cute slogans it will remain so.
Rick: I recently spoke with an acquaintance from one of the family islands, if true, and I have no reason not to believe it this is proof positive that the Bahamas does not belong to Bahamians. As Paul Harvey used to say, “and now you know the rest of the story.” The developers of certain resorts can bring in ANY materials, vehicles, boats or anything else they want without paying customs duty. They also have foreign workers doing jobs that locals who have been out of work for quite some time are qualified to do. Farmers are having to pay duty on their seedlings for their vegetable crops. Multimillion dollar homes are being built DUTY FREE and we the poor people have to subsidize BEC and all the other government agencies. This is a drop in the proverbial bucket…Bahamas for Bahamians, you gotta be joking.
