Go Abaco. Stick it to them.BEC should be ashamed of themselves, along with the government. All I can say is, Invest in a generator because, there’s more to come. This is another fine example of government destroying what ever they put their hands on.They are incapable of running anything, except maybe running people out of business. All the advertising in the world can’t overcome the word of mouth disgust of all the tourists that have left Abaco.
Having just finished 4 weeks cruising through the Bahamas, and having spent a full week in the Abaco’s, I can say first hand it is disgraceful.
Every settlement we anchored off or docked at lost power for hours every evening.
I felt guilty as hell with my Generator on board.
GTC, Guana, Man o War, Hope Town, Little Harbor, same story.
A few days prior, Hope Town had a 40 hour power cut.
Incredible.
Interestingly enough and as I understand it, Spanish Wells El. owned their own plant, until it burned down and Government moved to assume the task, something they wanted to do for decades.
After some 8-9 months with no signs of a new plant, they rebuilt and still operate their own.
Even amidst the most severe lightning storm, no failure.
