Honest Money by John Tomlinson

The financial crisis of 2008 has caused me to read a lot about the subject of money and its creation.

In an effort to learn more I've just finished Honest Money (119 pages – Helix) by John Tomlinson, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm not sure I'm a total convert but his analysis of the monetary system is most engaging.

It's far too easy for governments to print money without anything to back it up so it's doubtful we'll see a return to money warehouses as he advocates, or even to Currency Boards and the Gold Standard as recommended by other people.

In any event it provides some neat historical background and is a damn good read, and best of all, you can download it for free at his web site here…

I hope you have the time to read it.

Bad money drives out good money.. Six words that describe the history of money.. The rest are all just footnotes..
