While I don't purport to know any inside details of the story above, unions have seen to their own demise by getting into bed with successive governments.
In this bloggers not so humble opinion the unions have been so successful in getting the political class to do their bidding, laws like the Minimum Labour Standards Act etc have been passed by Parliament and these render unions impotent.
Is this good or bad?
This is a funny one Rick – I wouldnt respond until a review of the Bahamas Union Act has been reviewed …. to many pot holes to fall into with these matters….
In my opinion, all unions need to be busted. When you have unions blocking traffic & disrupting things all the time, they need to be gone.I think the way to do that is to stop taking the dues out of their paycheck, make them go & pay the dues on their own time.No one will pay, they will be busted in six months.
