Gotta love it when a government agency is soliciting donations so they can have a party to celebrate an anniversary and presumably what a wonderful job they have been doing.
Read the request for yourself below.
This is acceptable from a charity, but a government agency? Come on!

Begging knows no bounds in the Bahamas.
Through mismanagement, government departments have been forced to beg for materials supplies and equipment with which to operate, so it was only a natural progression for the practice to migrate into “other” needs.
I’ve got a dozen or more, why don’t we publish them?
I mean, it has become the way to get any timely response from any government department, I think every one should be able to “pay” for better service.
It is one of the disgraces of our country, more so, because most don’t even know that there is something wrong with doing it.
The practice however, was learned from the political branch, who is also the cause of the shortage of funds resulting in “alternate” funding being sourced.
Word has it that some Political operative thinks I’m too angry.
He has no clue just how angry I am about the sloth and averice we are immersed in.
Sloth and Averice that I will have nothing to do with.
I will live by rule of law.
Always.
Even if none else will.
By the way,
I love the outstanding service bit.
Also, you think they’re paying full pop for the Atlantis Ballroom, or “consideration” is being given?
It works both ways.
Like the Agriculture officer “receiving” a Benz to drive from a produce producer in a “protected” market.
Or “special People’s children” receiving Scholarships galore from a certain privately run city in the Bahamas.
There literally is no end to it.
And it is in fact what is ending the country.
Are there honest people in the public service?
I’m sure there are, they’ve learned to keep their heads down in order to survive.
Private sector?
Sure, they usually go quietly about their business, attracting as little attention as possible.
Both are a minority.
Collusion rules the day.
It is deplorable.Whats even worse than that is the fact that they don’t seem to think there is anything wrong with it. Sorry I have become so cynical, but I don’t see any change coming very soon.
The Bahamas Gov employs the largest percentage of fols in the country ! and it does this on an out dated sytem – coupled with the need to maintain a certain level of wage earners in the populas that cannot be readily consumed if restructuring occurs to fast … This is complx – and although it does not speak to the mismanagement – The fact exists wherein the morale and ethical means of conducting the peoples business has suffered. Outsourcing where it makes sense is essential and can indeed reduce the cost of government expenditures and bringabout a renewed sense of urgency to provide hightened level of cutomer service and professionalism – we know the latter is better seen and felt in the provate sector. Nonetheless – none of this can come about until the overhauling to the entire SYSTEM occurs… What is conteracting the growth and improve of the country, inpart and the need to bring about change without negatively affecting the purchaing power of the populas – rests with the fact that the Bahamas is an importing state (in international economic terms) wherein soo much of the money paid to gov workers leave the country on products, trips and shopping inthe USA – this deficit must collaps for more internal growth and renewed ability to foster business growth and development and for the aniticpation need to obsorb government works , if transitioned due to outsourcing, to jobs/careers on par with or improved incomes. ….. again complex –
